First pure Ban blastocysts from project’s IVP system

In the framework of in vitro production of native pig embryo, the first experiment for fertilization of Ban oocytes with Ban sperms has been carried out with over-expected success: Dr. Tamas Somfai, to gather with IBT staffs, has produces first pure Ban blastocysts in a high rate (20-25%) and some of blastocysts could even hatch out of the zona pellucida (which means they are very strong ones) with the developing project IVP procedure. Some embryos at zygote and blastocyst stages have been vitrified in cooperation with NIAS-V staffs to be cryo-stored as embryo stock of the project, ready to be thawed and transferred to surrogate sow mother as soon as the embryo transfer system is fully installed.
